Lennon Sisters in Branson, MO

The Lennon Sisters have graced stages across the country with their angelic voices and amazing vocal harmonies. The original group was comprised of four out of twelve siblings, featuring Dianne, Peggy, Kathy and Janet who were all born in Las Angeles, Ca. America was captivated by their sweet harmonies and dubbed the sisters “America’s Sweethearts of Song”.

The Lennon Sisters career began in 1955 where they debuted on the Lawrance Welk Show. They got their big break when a classmate, Larry Welk, brought them to his father’s attention. The sisters were a regular on the show until they left in 1968 to further their career. Over the next few years they produced many hits including a single in 1961 that became their only #1 in America and Japan.

The sisters starred in their own variety show, Jimmy Durante Presents the Lennon Sisters Hour, in 1969. The show only lasted one season on ABC due to family tragedy. In the 70’s, the sisters toured across the country with Andy William and were regulars on The Andy Williams Show. Additionally, they had appearances on several game shows including Family Feud, Tattletales, and The Hollywood Squares.

The sisters spent 10 years performing as headliners at the Welk Champagne Theater in Branson, MO. In 1992 Mimi replaced Peggy who retired and when Dianne left in 2001 the act became a trio. Currently, they are performing at Moon River Theatre in Branson, MO where they have a special Christmas Show. This season marks the 55th anniversary for The Lennon Sisters.
